Situating the kitchen sink in the corner of an "L"-shaped kitchen with windows overlooking both sides can be ideal for enjoying natural light and being able to keep an eye on kids and pets outside. Conventional thinking is to place the dishwasher right next to the sink.
Now think about what happens when you're standing in front of that sink and open the dishwasher door. As the door swings downward, you're in the way! The solution is to place a stack of drawers or
a tall, narrow cabinet for cookie sheets, serving platters, etc, between the sink and the dishwasher.
You'll be glad you did!
